Merry Christmas

  **Merry Christmas**
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and got everything you wanted...

Since my dad is Austrian, the traditional way to celebrate Christmas is on the 24th in the evening (opening presents etc included) and since my mum is British, the traditional way is celebrating and opening presents on the 25th instead. So we always try and compromise the the situation, when we were younger we used to always open the presents on the 24th because me and my sister were so impatiant; but now that we are older we always open everything on the 25th.

Like every Christmas eve our family gets dressed up and goes into the Hotel to eat at the Marche restaurant. Listening to the Christmas Carols in the Hotel lobby first while drinking egg nogg or mulled wine and then making our way up to the restaurant for dinner.

Then on the 25th we open up the presents and lately we've always gone to my best friends Nick's family's house for their Christmas party afterwards (this year included).

My Christmas Presents :)
I got lot of goodies. I got an iPad which I was pretty shocked about, so I have been busy getting cool apps for it and all that. My dad also gave me a signed copy of Richard Branson's book (which he signed) as my dad met him about a month ago. My mum also managed to get me the 'Urban Decay Naked' pallette which she picked up while she was on holiday in the UK. Oh and I got the MAC Carry-All bag which I wanted. And I got 3 new 'Trollbead' charms for my bracelet from my sister's boyfriend and my English family. Yeah... I'm happy :)

I hope you all had a lovely time and were surrounded by the people who made you smile xxx

Mistakes

We all make mistakes in life. Some worse than others. But we all make them. But basically what's done is done. We can't change what we did, we can't change who we meet, what we do. Our past is written in stone and there's no way of changing it. The only thing left to do is to move forward.
But the hardest thing to do is to move forward. How? Do we try and forget about what happened? Do we take what happened and try and learn from it? Do we keep our thoughts bottled up until we eventually break down? Do we let our family and friends in and let them help us along with what is to come?
Who knows!
Life's a bitch. But life isn't life without the mistakes we made, the experiences we had and the the paths we took. We are here in this moment, the people we are today because of all these things. But this isn't who we are. We are young and we have our whole lives ahead of us. We have time to change, to grow, to learn new things, to find new love and most probably make a hell of a lot more mistakes. But that's all part of it.
Last night was probably one of the moments I will remember forever. Yes it was bad, it hurt, it still hurts, it will still hurt for a while. But this time, I'm handling it differently. The mistakes that were made on both sides, Im not going to try and forget but I am going to remember to try and learn from. I'm not going to go back down a downward spiral like last time; I'm going to let my friends and family in. Talk. Laugh. Live and most importantly Love again.
My dad wrote this to me last night:

"Although the news you spoke of just now wasn't easy for me and certainly for
you to stomach. you made me a very proud father -
why, cause I have seen, although you are vulnerable, you are also very strong and have a big heart and have learnt to share your inner most feelings, and let us parents and let your friends in to help you with an episode that will remain as a glitch but shall not derail your quest for eventual love & happyness when the true soul mate comes calling...
This one certainly was not, so we all err in life and yours being so young, the chances of erring are naturally greater & more frequent... don't let it get you as it's all part of discovering life & growing up... (Here is me speaking from experience haha).
We love you and you are our bright star at night and the sunshine by day :) <3 xxx"

It's time to move forward, eventually everything will come together...

Top Shop Haul

They don't have Top Shop in Australia so I always make sure I go there when I am back home. Nick was with me so I didn't have much time to look around because he wouldn't stop complaining but I managed to pick up a few things. Definitely going back though to have another look.
I also got my hair cut after I dropped Nick home. I didn't end up going for a drastic change - no surprise there. Will post a picture soon.

House Party

Went to my dad's friend's Christmas house party yesterday. What an a-ma-zing house! I took some sneaky pictures but didn't want to come across as a crazy stalker but it was so nice. So gonna be my goal to own something like that one day, I mean, dream big right?

Hair Change

I'm so bored with my hair at the moment. I've never been one to experiment with my hair; if something looked good I usually stick to it with minor changes and I definitely never go for the short hair.

I think the biggest change I ever did was when I had super long hair, all the same length and then wanted to go get some layers at the front and the lady understood me wrong and cut where I wanted my shortest layer to start from she basically cut as the main length. Yeah, I cried then and there haha.

So I'm not looking for a big change or anything, just a trim on the ends but maybe a sort of long layered fringe or something like the pictures above.
I have really fine hair though and not a lot of it (unfortunetely) so not sure if it would work. Probs best bet is to just go to the hair dressers and see what they say. Wish me luck!

The Tick

One of the make-up looks I've been trying for what seems like forever is the eyeliner tick. After all this time and attempts i STILL can't get the hang of it. I never know when to start going up and how far up to pull it etc etc. Always looks wrong. Sooo annoying!

MAC Haul

Sooo I went into MAC today just to buy the Face and Body Foundation; but as always I failed. I blame the fact that for some reason Malaysia doesn't carry this foundation all year and that this was a time they chose not to have it (which kinda sucked since I've been wanting to try out this foundation for ages). So instead of turning around and walking out of the store I ended up buying three different things.

- MAC Blot Powder : Medium
- MAC Studio Fix Fluid : NW25
- MAC Fix +
I wanted one shade darker on the foundation cause I plan on doing some major tannage this christmas over here. And the Blot Powder I've heard good things over and I have oily skin so I'll try this one out. Have any of you tried these products before? Good/No Good?

Dress Love

How gorgeous does Mila Kunis look at the Black Swan premier? I love the dress she is wearing. Sexy yet still classy. Love!

Home Sweet Home

Sorry for the lack of blog posts but I have been busy this week sorting out everything and packing my stuff for my trip back home to KL.

Went to Michael's army open day yesterday. Was pretty cool. I got to shoot ten rounds on the guns but they weren't loaded or anything. Just linked up so you could still feel a kick-back and get the results of your shots etc. We also got to see this live demonstration of them doing their thaang with tactics n all that.

Anyway now I'm back home in Malaysia. God damn it's hot over here. Always takes a couple of days to adjust back into it. But it's so good to be home. Will be updating you on antics from over here- always more going on during my holis :)

News Flash

I had another shoot today! Was casual wear and bikini looks. I'll post some up once I get them if they turned out good.
It took place in a National Park about an hour drive from Sydney City. Was so nice! Was a bit of a treck to get to the location, the first one was at a waterfall and the second one was at this random place.

Waterfall Location
So funny at the waterfall above we went pretty close to to the water and the rocks were so slippery! I was just casually walking back to the safe bit and full on slipped and fell straight into the water - not just a quick splash in with my legs, no - all of me. It was so deep I couldn't even reach the bottom. So yeahhh, right at the beginning hair and make up all blahhh lol. And my legs got a lil cut up on the fall down. Oh well we laughed about it after.

On the trek to the Waterfall
We wanted to do some beach shots as well but it was a Saturday, 27 degrees and so they were crowded as anything. We might do it another day but I leave to go back home in a week so we'll see.

Stylish

I'm so happy :) I got given an award! I feel like I need to make my blog a little more stylish now just so that it fits the award.
Thank you so! much Brooke; I love your blog as well, so if this award hadn't come from you, you would have definitely been one of my seven.

The rules:
-Thank the person who gave you the award.
-Name 7 facts about yourself.
-Give the award to seven stylish bloggers, and comment them letting them know!

One: I love to travel
Seriously if I could I would just be traveling everyday all day. Discovering new places and seeing new things; just the fact that there is so much out there to see and experience. New foods, sights, people. I hate the idea of something being able to hold me back from seeing as much as the world as possible.

Two: I'm a daddy's girl
I love my dad, obviously I love my mum too but I just get on so much better with my dad. Me and him just click and are so alike. I often hear my mum say "You are so much like Papa". Even when I just hear my dad laugh it makes me so happy and laugh too. And he can never finish a joke without starting to laugh half way through already haha.

Three: Most of my friends are guys
My two best friends who are here with me in Sydney are guys. And most of my good friends are guys too. I do have some close girl friends but not here in Oz. Guys are just so much easier to get along with - no bitchiness. I do have times though where I miss having a close girl friend - shopping, girlyness etc. I find it way harder to make friends with girls tho for some reason.

Four: Sleeeeeeping
I sleep so much. All the time. I'm always tired. I go to bed tired and wake up tired. Sleep sleep sleep. Love it love it love it. Specially when your so tired and you lie on ur bed and your whole body relaxes and sinks into the mattress. Best feeling ever!

Five: I enjoy getting ready for nights out more than I actually enjoy going out
It's so much fun to get ready for a night out on the town. Make-up, hair, outfit, pre drinks, snap shot picture session with Nick :) I like partying but the preparation for it is so much more fun for me.

Six: I used to be a tomboy
Don't have a picture on my laptop from when I was younger but I was definitely a tomboy. My two best friends at the time - Hannah and Carla - used to live in the same condominium as me and we got up to so many crazyness. On the weekends we'd pack a bag with so much random stuff and just go exploring around the compound and jungle. It was so cool cause back then so many guys from my year lived in the same place so it was always us girls against the guys trying to not get caught by the security guards for getting up to no good.

Seven: I love/hate looking at pictures of other people on the net
Sometimes when I look at people's blogs, or browse through tumblr etc there are so many thoughts going through my head. First of all HOW can they look like that - perfect outfits, hair, make up (jealousy). Second HOW can they keep taking such nice pictures and of such cool effects and colours - if its the camera I am seriously wishing for one of those high tech cams for Christmas. And third, dunno about third but yeah I wish I had pics like that.

Ok now to choose the 7 people I give this award to:

Ombre Hair

I am loving the ombre hair trend! Specially Lauren Conrad and Isabel Lucas' looks are to die for, with the ligh waves as well. Finally a trend where dark roots and light ends are acceptable.

I'm trying to grow my natural hair out at the moment (had it dyed blonde), which is a lightish brown so at least now when people comment on my hair I'll use the excuse of following the "ombre hair trend" :P.

What do you think of this look?

Memories

I love looking through my old photo albums or going through my things back home and finding old notes we used to pass around in class or finding old letters. Having a trip down memory lane.

Yet at the same time it kind of makes me a little depressed. Yeah sure it's time to make new memories and continue on; but there just seems to be something about the past that makes it so much better. I dunno it's a strange feeling.

I definitely miss being back home in Malaysia, being back in high school! Seeing the same people everyday - what back then I used to complain about. Uni life is so different. People always say "university will be the best time of your life". I don't find that at all! I'm nearly done with uni and it's safe to say that I definitely don't find these years to be the best of my life. High school definitely was. Maybe I'm doing something wrong I dunno lol.
I definitely miss all these crazy people
I was going through an old folder on my laptop and found all these blog stories my best friend wrote back in like 2005 onwards and they are so unbelievably funny! He literally would write in detail all about an awesome night out we all had or a holiday and he made them so funny. Maybe I'll post one of them up; they are a bit of a read though but man was I laughin - helps me remember back to those nights and the little details. Like he would sum up most said lines of the night and things like that haha. I am trying to convince him now to write some this christmas when we all go back home to Malaysia. :)

Aria Awards

One of my best friends, Jeremy, works with a lighting company so does all the fancy lights for events and concerts etc. He always manages to get me freebies (specially during Sydney Fashion Week :)) and this time got me two VIP tickets for the Aria Awards - (Australian Record Industry Association). So I took Michael.

such a poser haha

We decided we'd show up later so we'd just be there for the main concert and some of the award giveaways. I saw Carmen Electra!!

It was pretty fun. We left halfway through the last act so that we wouldn't get stampeded when everyone tried to leave. Thanks for the tickets Jeremy <3

Bridal Shoot

As I mentioned on here last week I managed to score a bridal shoot :) Woke up at 6am yesterday and made my way over to the studio for a 9am start.
Hair and make-up took about two hours (there were three girls to get done) and I swear I have never worn so much foundation in my life lol. They seriously cake that stuff on to the max, not nice.
The studio was pretty cool; it was like this event design place so it had all these different little sections of a different scenery.
I was soo nervous at the beginning. I thought the photographer would give me some direction with the posing but all he told us was to "keep moving around. act natural. don't stop until i say" ermmm ok. There were about 12 dress changes or so, so after the first couple we all started getting the hang of it. Was good fun :)

Here are some of the pictures I took of the different dresses with my phone. I love the yellow dress! And another one of my favourites was the one you can see both pictures bottom right. It was short at the front, above the knees, and then the back was soooo long, I'd say maybe about 3,4 meters or so. Amazing!

There were two photographers, one taking the proper pics and the other taking 'different angle' ones. They said it will take a bit until I get to see the pictures but when I do I'll post some on here. He did send two though from the second photographer:

For one of the shots me and the girl you see above, Ivy, had to interact with each other and act "natural" (I swear that must have been the word of the day) and he asked us to talk to each other and "keep smiling". Was kinda awkward but we just started talking about Gossip Girl :p

Anyway, hope you lik the pics, will post some more when I get them xxx

The Social Network

Watched this movie last night and it was seriously awesome! One of my new favourite movies now. I love movies like this, the idea of creating something out of nothing; everything stemming from an idea. Because that's what it's all about, to get somewhere you need to start somewhere; and that starting point is your idea. It really makes you think. These ideas we randomly get throughout the day, they could potentially be worth billions of dollars. Miiiinddd Blowwwwinggg!! Definitely watch this movie if you can!
I did some research of the movie after - lame? what evaa :p - and it's all true what happens. Supposedly it was adapted from the book below:

The Accidental Billionaires

I'm buying this book I dun care! The movie got me obsessed haha.
